Airbrushing

In today’s society the demand for airbrushing has increased as technology move forward. In fact, airbrushing has several different uses like t-shirts, make-up, spray on tans, and automobiles. Most famous items that are airbrushed are motorcycles. The task of airbrushing could be described as art, but in reality it your imagination. If you can imagine it you can paint it. For example, true fire flames, skulls, and portraits are some of the most popular things today, and it takes a fine detailed airbrush to do so. There are several different airbrushes you can buy on the market, but Anest Iwata is the only one that stands out overall.

Anest Iwata has been a part of airbrushing history for nearly fifty years, and has provided there products to the best artist and creative professionals worldwide.  Anest Iwata has taken airbrushing to the next level and is developing new ideas each and every day. There are several different airbrushes that Anest Iwata provides and like most things they have their specific use. Usually the HP-CS airbrush and the Iwata micron are the top sellers. The HP-CS airbrush has a wider needle and a bigger tip than most airbrushes which allows more paint and courser metallic can flow through. You would not be able to do this with any other airbrush. The Iwata micron is designed for more precision airbrushing like a portrait of someone, for example. Anest Iwata as set the bar for airbrushes used in today’s society by simple making to finest of all airbrushes on the market today. Brent Heflin said in an interview, and I quote “I would choose Iwata over the other competition any day”.

The airbrush has been one of the most creative tools that has been invented, and dates back all the way to 1879. The modern look of the airbrush didn’t come along until 1893. A man named F. E. Stanley created the first patented airbrush, but was put out on the market for retail sales. Ever since then there have been many different designs and styles of the airbrush. Now days the most popular styles are the gravity feed airbrushes which are used by some of the best artistically talented people today. Just to name a few Craig Frazier,Edd Hubbs, and Mike Lavallee (the creator of true fire). With airbrushing you can do just about anything you can put your mind to, and your imagination will take you there. You can paint anything from the water spot effect and painting sinking ghost ships. The trick to all this is what colors to use and a lot of practice, but it can get expensive.

Putting different paints in your airbrush does matter. Most airbrushes do not spray paints with a high volume of metallic. Metallic will clog up the airbrush and will not spray properly. You can sprat any solid paint colors and any candy paint color as long as their reduced properly. With gravity feed airbrushes you load the paint from the top and you have much less paint wasted verses a siphon feed airbrush.

In conclusion, airbrushing is a skill that you do not develop overnight. It takes a person with patients, and hand eye coordination to complete most of the tasks involved in airbrushing. It is a very expensive hobby to get into, but it is well worth it in the long run when you start working for the public. Paying attention to small details, shading, and a steady hand are all key factors that can make you or break you. Especially when doing any kind of custom paint work for the general public.
